Hard work, discipline, vigor, vitality, positivity and excitement have never been character challenges for this Former Army Officer, Businessman, Entrepreneur, Author, Omega Man, Educator, avid golfer, life long learner, and Senior Pastor of Rainbow Park Baptist Church in Decatur Ga., Rev. Dr. Steven Dial Sr.
However, in September of 2022, he suddenly took ill, really ill, and his world was instantly turned upside down. Dr. Dial found himself in the fight of his life. 27 days in the hospital, test after test performed. Finally, in October of 2022, he received the diagnosis of Multiple Myeloma, a Blood cancer!
Shocked, confused, and concerned, to say the least. Many questions on exactly what this meant for his life and his life expectancy. The Oncologist called it a Marathon that could be won if Dr. Dial was willing to fight.
The bell rang, and Dr. Dial stepped in the ring prepared to fight. Not alone, Steven has his family, friends, and church congregation all in the fight with him, cheering him on to victory and praying for his total healing.
Through hip replacement (due to the cancer in the hip bone), radiation, chemo a bone marrow transplant, and being away from his beloved Rainbow Park congregation initially for over 13 weeks as he fought to regain his weight and physical strength. Dr. Dial continues to fight and is winning!
